At no point did I personally defend, or endorse Mr. Hoinsky’s alleged actions or for that matter, writings as they then appeared on a Seduction subreddit; my position was, that as Mr. Hoinsky was writing a book, that it would be best to assess said book when it was published in full, rather than attempting to fully understand his position on these matters based on disjointed, and often deliberately quoted-out-of-context fragments of statements he made in a discussion forum online. I also stated to Ms. Walsh that, my position would hold true for her were she in the same place as Mr. Hoinsky – I would just as vigorously argue in her favor against anyone attempting to tar and feather her based on fragments of statements she made online. My aim was to merely put the facts out there, to counter claims on Ms. Walsh’s part that Mr. Hoinsky was a rapist, and that his advice to other Men was to rape. Again, other Feminists have gone on record in rejecting these notions, and thus by extension, have disagreed with Ms. Walsh’s contentions.
The glaring holes in Ms. Walsh’s reasoning on the matter got so bad, that it led to a momentary “shut down” on my part of HUS and a “reboot” which included the “purging” of what she and even we, refer to as the “78” – which then grew to more than 200, according to Ms. Walsh herself – male commenters. Prior to her shutting down and then re-opening her site, I charged her with Stalinist-tactics.
It would seem that my assertions bear themselves out in the light of the historical record of HUS.
At the time, J4G was nascent, barely a month or so old, and while I initially resisted responding, directly or otherwise, to many of Ms. Walsh’s “new” arguments, toward the end of last year and several times since, I took specific time out to address and respond to, her “arguments”.
