In response to Moxie’s question at the end, yes, I do think that women are the ones who are afraid to losing their identity and independence when getting married. I think that modern feminism, shows like Sex and the City, and from your description of it, The Good Wife, contribute to this. They glamorize the lifestyle and encourage women to reject the traditional marriage model, live a life of single partying and openly dating. The problem with this is that it goes against our hardwired human nature. We want to meet someone, we want to get paired off.
